چکیده
Abstract Rainfall-induced landslide inventories can be compiled using remote sensing and topographical data, gathered either traditional or semi-automatic supervised methods. In this study, we used the PlanetScope imagery deep learning convolution neural networks (CNNs) to map 2018 rainfall-induced landslides in Kodagu district of Karnataka state Western Ghats India. We a fourfold cross-validation (CV) select training testing data remove any random results model. Topographic slope was as auxiliary information increase performance The resulting inventory map, created with spectral information, reduces false positives, which helps distinguish areas from other similar features such barren lands riverbeds. However, while including did not true overall accuracy higher compared only train mean accuracies correctly classified values were 65.5% when optical increased 78% use data. methodology presented research applied landslide-prone regions, support hazard mitigation regions.

Distribution of radionuclide in the forest soils (Western Ghats-India)
Background: The presence of radionuclides in the soil, measures need to be taken to minimize the radiation dose to humans. It is mostly gamma-emitting radionuclides that contribute to the radiation dose in long term behavior of these radionuclides in soil may determine the extent to which such countermeasures need to be applied. Materials and Methods: The activity concentration of these radionu...
متن کاملCentennial rainfall variation in semi arid and tropical humid environments in the cardamom hill slopes, southern Western Ghats, India
Studies of rainfall variation generally focus on large areas. For example, in India, the area average monsoon rainfall series of the whole country or meteorological subdivisions are used. This would be of no use for local agriculture, particularly in places where rainfall is very high or very low, especially for crops like small cardamom and vanilla which are very sensitive to soil moisture and...
متن کاملDistributed modelling of shallow landslides triggered by intense rainfall
Hazard assessment of shallow landslides represents an important aspect of land management in mountainous areas. Among all the methods proposed in the literature, physically based methods are the only ones that explicitly includes the dynamic factors that control landslide triggering (rainfall pattern, land-use). For this reason, they allow forecasting both the temporal and the spatial distribut...
متن کاملIncreasing Trend of Rainfall Over Agumbe, Western Ghats, India in the Scenario of Global Warming
There are quite a number of conflicting conclusions about inter-annual trends of the monsoon rainfall over South Asia as a result of global warming. Western Ghats, next to Himalayas are the principal watershed areas for the rivers of India. In this study, an attempt has been made to understand the inter-seasonal and inter-annual patterns rainfall over Agumbe – popularly known as the Cheerapunji...
متن کاملComparison and Evolution of Extreme Rainfall-Induced Landslides in Taiwan
This study analyzed the characteristics of, and locations prone to, extreme rainfall-induced landslides in three watersheds in Taiwan, as well as the long-term evolution of landslides in the Laonong River watershed (LRW), based on multiannual landslide inventories during 2003–2014. Extreme rainfall-induced landslides were centralized beside sinuous or meandering reaches, especially those with l...
